What our inventory scanner reveals about your portfolio

Most brokers only display ticker symbols. Investminder breaks down the largest positions of each fund — up to 15 holdings, covering 20 % to 70 % of assets depending on the product — to surface the imbalances.

Understand the Impact

The illusion of diversification is expensive

The vast majority of retail investors believe they reduce risk by adding popular ETFs. Financial mathematics prove the exact opposite.

The False Sense of Security

Combining an MSCI World, an S&P 500, and a Tech ETF feels like creating a bulletproof portfolio. In reality, you are tripling your bet on the exact same Silicon Valley giants without adding any downside protection.

The Classic Rebalancing Trap

Discovering this imbalance often pushes investors to sell overlapping positions. Big mistake: in taxable accounts, selling triggers immediate capital gains taxes (up to 30 %) and transaction fees that wipe out years of compounding interest.

Forced Selling vs Cash-Flow Rebalancing

Traditional Method (Selling)

Selling positions = Immediate tax hit on gains

Brokerage and execution fees on every transaction

Exiting the market and disrupting compound interest

Investminder Method (Fresh Savings)

Zero selling = 0 € in taxes triggered

Gradual dilution of duplicates through regular monthly savings

Compound growth remains uninterrupted while reaching target weights

FAQ & Transparency

FAQ & Technical Details

Everything you need to know about our calculation methodology and security.

We start from the top holdings published by the issuers (Amundi, iShares, BNP Paribas Easy, Vanguard, Invesco, VanEck). Those inventories cover the largest positions of each fund, 20 % to 70 % of assets depending on the product. The overlap shown therefore combines that direct measurement with an empirical index-family benchmark for the undisclosed tail: it is a documented estimate, not a line-by-line reconstruction of the fund portfolio.

Investminder uses read-only European banking protocols. We never see your login credentials and have no permission to execute orders or move funds.

This is precisely where the tool is most valuable: it prevents unnecessary portfolio bloat over the years and guides every monthly deposit.

Instead of selling winners to buy losers (which incurs taxes and fees), our algorithm allocates 100 % of your new monthly deposit to the lagging asset until target weights are restored.

Yes. For swap-based ETFs, we analyze the constituents of the benchmark index they replicate (e.g. MSCI World, S&P 500), since that is the economic exposure driving your portfolio risk.
